We are excited to announce our new Chief Program Officer: Tefere Gebre!
Tefere brings unparalleled experience in workers rights, grassroots organizing, and coalition building to Greenpeace USA. Prior to joining us, Tefere served as executive vice president of the AFL-CIO, where he was the first immigrant, political refugee, and Black man elected to the position. In this role, he helped build strong partnerships between labor and community groups, immigrant rights advocates, and civil rights organizations. As Greenpeace USA’s new CPO, Tefere will lead our work to combat the climate crisis, defend democracy, and advance social and racial justice.
