Two years ago, the Taliban made a stunning return to power in Afghanistan.

Since then, the country has become one of the world’s most repressive regimes for women and girls. Disobedience to the Taliban’s increasingly restrictive decrees is extremely risky. And yet, many courageous Afghan women are speaking out and fighting for their rights.

Rights & Wrongs talks to Zahra Nader, Editor-in-Chief of Zan Times, a women-led news source in exile, and Human Rights Watch researcher Fereshta Abbasi about the worsening crisis in Afghanistan–and the forms of resistance women have developed in response.
