For the first Fire Drill Friday of 2021 we’re going ‘back to basics’ on fossil fuels. Jane Fonda will be talking with award winning journalist Antonia Juhasz about why exactly fossil fuels are a problem, how they are in decline, and why it is so urgent that we hasten the transition away from them.
Antonia Juhasz is an investigative journalist and author specializing in climate and fossil fuels (especially oil). She writes for Rolling Stone, Harper’s Magazine, Newsweek, The Atlantic, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, CNN, The Nation, and Ms. Magazine, among other outlets. She is the author of three books: Black Tide: The Devastating Impact of the Gulf Oil Spill; The Tyranny of Oil; and The Bush Agenda. Antonia founded and runs the (Un)Covering Oil Investigative Reporting Program and she is a Bertha Fellow in Investigative Journalism, working with a team of international journalists on the climate crisis, fossil fuels, and corporate power. She recently delivered the TEDx talk, “How Women and Girls are Leading the Way to the End of the Fossil Fuel Era.” She wrote the Sierra Magazine September/October cover article, “The End of Oil.” She lives in Colorado.
